Persona Views

What data is included in Persona Views?
We include three types of information: Brick-and-Mortar, App and Web, and Opinion data.

Do you make any changes to that data?
To better represent the U.S. population, we weight our OmniTraffic® behavioral data according to Census demographics.

Do you exclude any data?
We remove any data that might skew trends, e.g. employee visits to locations or stops in parking lots.

How often do you update your data?
We refresh our data every day. However, there is some latency: Data generated within 48 hours may update by a small percentage.

What is “median dwell time?”
This metric gauges median dwell time at a particular location and gives the most representative measure of that behavior.

Are any brands grouped?
Yes. To address regionality, we grouped Albertsons’ and Kroger’s subsidiaries with their national brands

Can I test for statistical significance?
This function is currently unavailable for survey data. However, we plan on including it in a future iteration of the platform.

Can I select and compare two different data groups within a survey?
You can compare and display demographics — gender, age, ethnicity, income, etc. For other comparisons, export the data and look at them side-by-side.

Can I use survey response data as a banner point?
While we plan on including it in a future update, this ability is currently unavailable.

How often do you update your data?

Can I create a derived or hidden variable from an existing question?
No, but we have this feature on backlog for future consideration.

Survey Pulse: Survey + Location

What sample sizes are available?
We offer two sample sizes: Total Responses and Total Panelists. Both are shown at the top of the page and fluctuate based on selected filters and data sets.

Why do Total Responses and Total Panelists differ?
We use date of survey completion as our starting point. So, you field a survey over several days, locational data may vary since respondents may complete it at different times.

When do you start counting days before and after?
We use date of survey completion as our starting point. So, you field a survey over several days, locational data may vary since respondents may complete it at different times.

Can I choose how I time my surveys?
Currently, we offer one, seven, and 14-day ranges. Date customization will be available in future Consumer Explorer iterations.

Why do some visits seem longer or shorter than expected?
Visits track anyone who arrived at a specific location. Some may come from employees who work on-site for extended periods of time; others may come from passersby making quick, frequent stops.

How do Visits differ from Visitors?
Visits are unique stops at a location; each get counted individually. Visitors are the total number of people that visit a particular place.

Why does it take a while for some data to load?
It all depends on the number of respondents and the timeframe selected, but it’ll all load! To help you gauge progress, we included an indicator at the top of the page that shows whether data is still processing.
